In Thanks: A Letter To the Campus of the Jewish Home

To Richard Spiegelman, President, and Allen Geckle, CEO of the Campus of the Jewish Home

April 30, 2021

Dear Richard and Allen,

On behalf of the Board and the Staff of Jewish Family Service of Greater Harrisburg, we wanted to take a moment and express our deepest thanks to The Jewish Home for your unmatched dedication to serving seniors in our community, including those seniors who receive meals through the Finkelstein – Cohen Kosher Meals on Wheels Program (KMOW). The Jewish Home has always been accommodating in both preparing the meals for the program and setting aside space in the kitchen so that volunteer packers for JFS can assemble and pack the meals. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March of 2020, your staff have gone above and beyond to find ways to ensure that meals have continued to be prepared and delivered to homebound seniors in our community. It is only though your support of the program and of our Program Coordinator, John Jantos, that we did not miss one day of food delivery during this entire crisis.

We want to acknowledge the unwavering commitment of Dennis Michaels, General Manager for Food Services, in safeguarding the food preparation process, of Mashgiach, Ellis Rosenberg for assisting in the food packing and we are equally grateful to now be working with your RN, Jill Swartz, to help us bring back volunteers into the kitchen. We are especially indebted to you, Allen, for providing JFS with fresh, healthy, nutritious kosher meals for the seniors of our community.

We feel very fortunate to have The Jewish Home as our partner and look forward to continuing to work together to serve seniors in need for many more years to come.

In deepest gratitude,

Robert Wolff
President
