SeniorLinks Counseling can help with our services tailored to the needs of seniors and caregivers.

With all of the gifts of aging, also come challenges.  For seniors, this very special time of life is often marked with major transitions, loss of loved ones, health issues and anxiety about what the future holds. In addition, being a caregiver for a spouse, parent or family member can be a very stressful and confusing time. These events, while being a natural part of life, can sometimes cause grief, guilt, regrets, depression and excessive worry.  We provide a comfortable, caring and respectful environment to help you work through any issues, feelings or problems that are keeping you from having peace of mind and experiencing joy.

Individual Counseling

Mental health counseling can help you process both painful memories and experiences from your past, work on any current challenges that are causing you distress, and deal with issues such as worry about the future, relationships, caregiving, isolation, loneliness, and grief and loss of all types. Our counselors are trained to help you learn techniques to manage chronic mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, panic, hoarding and OCD.  We see both individuals and couples.

Caregiver support series

This 5-session brief supportive therapy seeks to understand your unique caregiving situation and dynamics, provide emotional support, and help you with problem solving and planning.  We can provide direction and general guidance on figuring out home care services, coping with dementia, and other aspects of elderly care.  We also support you through the fatigue, grief and guilt that often accompanies caregiving. At the end of 5 sessions, you can choose to extend the counseling if desired.

Senior Wellness Check

This brief supportive therapy is for older adults wishing to reduce stress by exploring their long term goals and planning with regards to the aging process.  This process will help you figure out what you want for yourself and point you in the right direction to realistically achieve your goals.  The counselor will help you do a self-assessment of readiness for the future and provide emotional support regarding the concern and anxiety that often arise for seniors when looking forward.
